Background of Sidama National Regional Government Investment Commission.

The Sidama National Regional Government Investment Commission was established in 2008 under the name investment expansion office, and since its establishment, it has been doing its part to achieve the mission of expanding investment in the region and making the people of the region economic beneficiaries.

Following the organization of Sidama by region, According to regulation No. 8/2013 issued to determine the powers and duties of the commission reorganized under the name of Investment Commission, it is carrying out its mission of developing the economy of the region, creating job opportunities for citizens and technology transfer given by the regional government.

Regarding its internal organization, the commission is composed of three main directorates, namely the Directorate of Investment Land and Potential Studies, the Directorate of Investment License, Information and Promotion, the Directorate of Support and Monitoring of Investment Projects, and five supporting directorates.

Regarding its human resources, it has a total of 65 employees, 40 men 25 women, including senior managers.

The commission collects from the concerned bodies the issue of rural and urban land used for investment purposes, it inters the land bank, transfer it to investors according to the law, collects information by identifying the regions wealth through studies, transmits the information to interested parties, introduces the region’s investment options, it grants, changes, replaces, cancels investment licenses, provides support and monitoring for projects that have been put in to operation and provides incentives support and more.
